Many Indian users received an in-app notification from WhatsApp as a neighborhood of an upcoming global roll-out for over 2 billion users, asking them to either accept the changes in its Terms of Service and privacy policy by February 8 or their accounts are getting to be deleted.

WhatsApp is bringing in three key changes in privacy policy - how it processes user data; how businesses can use Facebook-hosted services to store and manage their WhatsApp chats; and the way WhatsApp partners with Facebook to supply integrations across the corporate products.

WhatsApp will collect usage and log information, telephone number, mobile operator, ISP data, browser information, hardware model, OS information, battery level, location Information, cookies, and transactions and payments data. WhatsApp, however, added that user messages, once delivered, are deleted from its servers and added that the messages are encrypted.

WhatsApp has made it clear that users got to accept these updates to continue using the app. So you've got time till February 8 to either accept WhatsApp's new privacy policy or exit the platform.

WhatsApp said it works with third-party service providers and other Facebook companies to assist it to operate, provide, improve, understand, customize, support, and market its services. "As a part of the Facebook Companies, WhatsApp receives information from and shares information with, the opposite Facebook Companies... We may use the knowledge we receive from them, and that they may use the knowledge we share with them, to assist operate, provide, improve, understand, customize, support, and market our services and their offerings, including the Facebook Company Products.
